We've identified an issue with the underlying storage system supporting some VM's system disk. A solution has been identified and to apply it, we must perform the corrective actions over a scheduled maintenance period during which the affected VMs will not be usable. Any running VMs will be gracefully shut down at the start of the maintenance period and subsequently powered back on upon maintenance completion.

We have emailed those affected and only those users will have their machines shut down.
